To make those bookmarks I have used heavy solvy and put it into my hoop.
Connected the hoop to my machine and put the fabric on top of the solvy.
I have used a baste stitch, to attach the fabric to the solvy so it stay in place, the baste stitch is also included in the set.
Sewed out the design.
Then I have put a piece of fabric underneath my hoop and sewed out the first colour of the border, this way you don’t see the stitches from the designs on the back anymore.
For the left one I have cut away the fabric (like you do with appliqué) on the top and back and sewed out the last colour, this will be the border.
For the one on the right I have cut the fabric away only at the back,
sewed out the border and when finished
I have cut away the fabric 1 cm from the border and fringed it.
