How to sew out cross stitch design designs

All designs come with a color chart
Because of the limited color palettes for the different machines always use it for the actual stich out.
If you have a color printer print out the colors
chart

Ignore the colors your machine screen dislpay, these could not the same as the design .
When finished a color mark it on your color chart, so you always know what colors you have done.

The color charts could be a PDF file, and can be viewed and printed out by Acrobat reader
Some older designs have a TXT tread change list with a used colors PDF file for the matched tread numbers for DMC to/Madeira/Robinson Anton and Sulky Rayon treads

For this big sampler I have used a middleweight cotton fabric
I have used sticky paper under the fabric and 1 layer light tear away
All hoped in tight, I also have used some pins to make sure the fabric will not pull in. This to make sure the outlines is perfect

Also loosens the upper tread tension of your machine a little

After a color is finished cut away the jump stitches before sewing out the next color
This is very important to make sure stitches not sewed over by the next color

Ready to be framed

I will put this design up for sale soon

Because some designs have many color shades this type of designs needs a lot of patience and cutting away little jump stitches.
But I think it is really worth it and love seeing a design grown after each color sewed out.
After all those years I'm still surprised when a design is finished and I have done the test sewing how beautiful cross-stitch designs are.

I hope this will help you on your way to try and sew out cross stitch designs.
